CHAIRMAN & DIRECTOR

Ayisi Makatiani

Mr. Ayisi Makatiani is an investor, entrepreneur, founder and head of Fanisi Capital, which manages a USD50M portfolio of high growth enterprises across East Africa.

Mr. Makatiani serves on the boards of Haltons, the leading pharmacy retail chain in Eastern Africa, Hillcrest International Schools, the leading set of British Curriculum Schools in Kenya, Sophar, a leading pharmacy wholesale and distribution business in Rwanda, Live Ad, a billboard advertising company, Turnkey Africa, the leading provider of enterprise software solutions for the insurance sector across Africa, East Africa Venture Capital Association and Barclays Life Assurance Company.

He was a founding chairman of JamboJet, the leading low cost carrier and also a board member at Barclays Bank of Kenya, founder and CEO of Africa Online Inc., Chairman at Ogilvy & Mather (East Africa) and vice Chairman of second largest Kenyan university Kenyatta University.

Founder and CEO

Kizito Makatiani

Kizito Makatiani is the Founder and CEO of Turnkey Africa Ltd. In his capacity as the founder and chief architect at Turnkey Africa, Kizito has been intimately involved in shaping the company’s creative and cultural vision. This has subsequently produced one of the most dynamic products in the market – TurnQuest Insurance Suite.

As the CEO he has overseen the company’s overall direction from inception up to its current position as the leading pan-African technology company that is one of the fastest growing companies on the continent.

Kizito has over 20 years of experience working with industry leaders across the continent and dealing with cutting-edge technologies. Drawing on this experience, Mr. Makatiani is regularly invited to speak on the subject at major events across the continent.

His most recent speaking engagements include; the Africa Insurance & Reinsurance Conf. (AIRC) held in Nairobi in July 2018 where he spoke on Ways Insurance Firms Can Fight Fraud, the 22nd AIO Africa Reinsurance Forum held in Balaclava, Mauritius in October 2017 speaking on the Impact of Digital Disruption on African Insurers and Reinsurers; the 3rd Annual Africa Bancassurance & Distribution Conference 2017, speaking on Customer Experience to Drive Digital Disruption; and the Ghana Insurance Association (GIA) 4th Life Insurance Conference 2017 where he spoke on Becoming A Digital Insurer.

Kizito holds a Bachelor’s Degree (BSc) in Chemical and Process Engineering from Moi University, Kenya. He is also a graduate of the Stanford Seed Transformation Program designed to support greater regional economic prosperity through leadership and innovation training.

He worked at Africa Online as a Billing System Administrator for three years before founding Turnkey Africa Ltd in 1997 with the aim of developing software applications for small and medium sized businesses in Africa.

Chief Sales Officer and Executive Director

Shikoli G. Makatiani

As the Chief Sales Officer and Executive Director at Turnkey Africa Limited, Shikoli is a dynamic leader with a proven track record in driving sales growth and spearheading strategic initiatives. With over 20 years of experience in software engineering and product development, he brings a unique blend of visionary leadership and hands-on expertise to the team.

With a deep understanding of the software solutions landscape, Shikoli has consistently led high-performing sales teams to exceed revenue targets and achieve market expansion. Their strategic insights and ability to identify new business opportunities have played a pivotal role in the company’s sustained growth.

As an executive director, Shikoli is responsible for aligning sales strategies with the company’s overall vision, ensuring seamless execution of go-to-market plans, and nurturing a culture of collaboration and excellence within the sales organization. With a commitment to driving customer success, he continues to empower businesses to harness the transformative power of cutting-edge software solutions.

Shikoli is an ardent reader who is passionate about everything IT and regularly speaks on the subject at events around the continent. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from North Eastern University, Boston, MA, USA. He previously worked for Africa Online as a Systems Consultant and also at Corporate Technologies Ltd (USA) as a Senior Systems Consultant.

Deputy CEO & Chief Customer Officer

Thomas Thuku Mugi

As the Deputy CEO and Chief Customer Officer at Turnkey Africa, Thomas embodies a unique blend of strategic leadership and unwavering customer focus, driving the company’s success to new heights. With a remarkable career spanning 14 years in technology, he has consistently championed both innovation and customer satisfaction.

With a deep-rooted passion for understanding and meeting customer needs, Thomas redefines the customer experience within Turnkey Africa. His role as Deputy CEO enables him to align the company’s overarching vision with its customer-centric approach, ensuring that every product and solution is tailored to exceed expectations.

His extensive experience brings a wealth of industry insight to the table and enriches his ability to anticipate market trends and position Turnkey Africa as a market leader, all while maintaining an acute focus on customer delight.

Thomas’ dual role as Deputy CEO and Chief Customer Officer signifies the company’s commitment to excellence, where innovation and customer-centricity converge under his expert guidance. General Manager, Nigeria

Valentine Odoh

Valentine Okwudiri Odoh is a graduate of Computer Science and Information Communication Technology from Igbinedion University Okada. He joined Turnkey Africa (then e-Insurance Solutions Centre Limited) in April 2008 as an assistant software developer and was part of the team that built the first ever centralized Insurance database in Nigeria – the Claims and Underwriting Exchange Database (CUED).

In his 15 years of professional experience, all with Turnkey Africa, Valentine has acquired several trainings, experiences/exposure in Business Analysis/Planning, Customer Service, Project Management, Finance & Administration and Human Resource Management. These knowledge and skills have been most beneficial to him in confronting various challenges encountered in his professional, social and religious communities.

Valentine, is a tech enthusiast with a strong passion for issues affecting young people in Nigeria and the sustainable development of the country. He has volunteered for several social causes and was from 2015-2018 the General Secretary of the Catholic Youth Organization of Nigeria, Archdiocese of Lagos.

 

 

Finance Manager

Mary Kamau

With a passion for both numbers and innovation, she is a dedicated Finance Manager at Turnkey Africa Limited. Leveraging her extensive financial expertise and keen understanding of the technology sector, she plays a pivotal role in driving the company’s financial success.

Equipped with over 10 years of experience in finance and accounting, she has a proven track record of optimizing financial strategies to align with the dynamic landscape of software solutions. Her ability to analyze complex financial data and trends enables her to provide insightful recommendations that contribute to informed decision-making across the organization.

She thrives in collaborating with cross-functional teams, bridging the gap between finance and technology. Her strong communication skills foster effective partnerships with stakeholders, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of financial goals and fostering a financially responsible culture within the company.

Chief Human Resource Manager

Florence Karimi

Florence Karimi is Turnkey Africa’s Chief Human Resource Manager responsible for developing and executing the company’s HR strategy, in alignment with the overall business strategy. Her responsibilities include Talent Acquisition and Management, promoting a positive work environment and culture that aligns with the company’s values as a partner with executive leadership to identify HR priorities and objectives to drive organizational success, helping align HR with Turnkey Africa’s overall business strategy to better anticipate and respond to customer needs and to maintain competitive advantage. Florence is passionate about employee engagement and development. She has extensive experience in strategy and human capital services.

Outside of work, Florence is a contributor to charity. She believes in giving back to the community and she is part of a group called Youth with Purpose which mentors and equips the youths with Enterprise and entrepreneurial skills. She loves to read and participate in outdoor sports. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management and is a member of IHRM.

Chief Product Officer

Lillian A. Munyendo

As the Chief Product Officer at a cutting-edge software solutions company, Lilian is a visionary leader at the intersection of technology and innovation. With a track record of driving impactful product strategies, she brings a wealth of experience to the table. Her passion for translating market insights into revolutionary software solutions is palpable, and she thrives on fostering a culture of creativity and collaboration within her teams. With a deep understanding of user-centric design and a knack for identifying emerging trends, Lilian consistently delivers products that not only meet but exceed customer expectations. Her ability to navigate complex technical landscapes while keeping an eye on the ever-evolving industry landscape sets her apart as a strategic driving force behind the company’s success.

Lillian who has worked with the company for over 15 years has also served in different capacities most notably as a Training, Support and Implementation manager, Strategy & Center of Excellence Manager, COO, Project Manager, and within the human resource and sales departments. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics and Chemistry from Egerton University, Kenya, and a Diploma in Business Management from Kenya Institute of Management.

Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

Victor Mugo

Our journey towards groundbreaking innovation and transformative technology solutions is led by our esteemed Chief Technology Officer (CTO), a distinguished IT expert with a remarkable decade-long career that has shaped the industry and inspired excellence. With a passion for data management, software engineering, and system audit, our CTO’s visionary leadership propels our company to new heights of success.
He has a Bachelor’s degree in computer science from Maseno university and is certified in Oracle Database Administration as well as Linux System and Network Administration. He started as an Engineering manager and senior software engineer before rising to his position where he steers the team to manifest projects with finesse and precision.

He also served as a System Audit Manager as Invesco Assurance Company Limited where he did analysis of functional specifications. He has been involved in engineering programs that have been adopted by major companies including Kenya Orient, Heritage Insurance and Equity Bancassurance.

Senior Delivery Manager

Walter Ndege

Walter Ndege is the Senior Delivery Manager responsible for both Project Management Office and Delivery units within Turnkey Africa. As head of the delivery team, his main role is to ensure that the company projects are delivered within the constraints of scope, time, budget, and quality.

He has wide experience in Project management and software Business Analysis roles in the organization. He has a number of qualifications including PMP, PRINCE2, and a Master’s degree in Project Planning and Management from the University of Nairobi. He has served in various capacities in companies in the Insurance sector in Kenya.
